The Fixture Exchange has existed in one form or other since the early 1990's, and provides a valuable service to the youth rugby clubs of England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales.
The Exchange operates to make sure that no youngster is left disappointed and without a fixture to play at any time - team coaches and club secretaries need only log in to the site to see who has a fixture availability and they can then contact other clubs to arrange matches, often at short notice.
The Exchange is run by volunteers who make no profit from the site. instead, all proceeds are donated to SPIRE, the charity which aims to help those who are unfortunate enough to have become paraplegics through playing Rugby. The donation is made each year in the Rose room at Twickenham, home of the English RFU. The event is an extravaganza and all clubs are invited to attend, meet up and arrange matches, and take part in the hospitality on offer. We are honoured that the RFU sponsor the event and host it in such a prestigious environment. A representative from the RFU is on hand to meet with the club representatives and each year we see an increasing number of people in attendance.
The Fixture Exchange is available to all clubs, regardless of Internet access - there is a telephone service run throughout the week to make sure that no-one goes unaided. The 'opening hours' are:
E-mail and interactive use 24 hours a day
Attended telephone 18:00 to 22:00 every day and Saturday mornings
Answer machine for all other times
